About 100 faculty members of a Sri Chaitanya School at Madhapur today staged a protest program demanding payment of their salaries.
The BJP Telangana unit extended its support to the agitating teachers, with party MLC N Ramachander Rao taking part in the program himself.
Speaking on the occasion, Rao alleged that the management of the school was collecting lakhs of rupees from the parents of the students but not paying salaries to its teachers.
He said that although there were several government orders mandating the management to pay the salaries of the teachers, the authorities of the state government were not taking any action on the issue.
He demanded that the state government intervene in the matter and ensure the payments of the salaries.
The leaders of other political parties also took part in the agitation.
