An RTC bus driver died of fits while at the steering wheel on the busy Narayanaguda bridge in the city this morning.
A major mishap was, however, averted as the bus was stationary at the end of the bridge as the traffic signal was on red at the Bagh lingampally junction.
The driver, Rasool, collapsed on the steering wheel and died in minutes, before the conductor and passengers noticed anything amiss and could come to his rescue.
It may be recalled that
another driver Saidulu working with the Khammam depot had also died while driving an RTC bus, near Nakirekal, five days back. He had suffered a heart attack and collapsed on the steering wheel after stopping the bus safely off the highway.
