AICC chief Rahul Gandhi today alleged that only caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's family benefited in the TRS rule in Telangana. He also charged both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and KCR with deceiving the people with utter lies and broken promises.
Speaking at the Congress election campaign meeting in Bhainsa on Saturday afternoon, Gandhi launched a blistering attack against both KCR and Modi. He started by alleging that KCR had changed the name of the Ambedkar irrigation project to the Kaleswaram project. KCR was totally opposed to the name of Ambedkar, Gandhi alleged.
He then claimed that KCR had artificially inflated the costs of the irrigation projects in the name of redesign, and was looting the state through unprecedented corruption. He also lamented that both Modi and KCR had failed to check the suicides of farmers in Telangana, and promised that the Congress would waive off bank loans of farmers of upto Rs. 2 lakhs immediately after coming to power in the state.
Reminding the audiences of KCR's electoral promises, Rahul Gandhi asked KCR whether he had provided water to every household, 12% reservations to Muslims and 3 acres of lands to each SC family. Targeting Modi on similar lines, Gandhi asked the former whether he had deposited Rs 15 lakhs in the account of every citizen as promised, and whether the youth had got two crore jobs. He said that Modi was not a watchdog of the people but a security guard for Anil Ambani, Vijay Mallya and Lalit Modi, and alleged that Modi had indulged in huge loot through the Rafale scam.
The Congress chief predicted that the people would shortly be freed from the Modi and KCR rule.
Gandhi, who came to Nanded by a special flight, reached Bhainsa through a helicopter from there along with TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy and Telangana Congress party affairs in-charge R C Kuntia, who both reached Nanded through a helicopter from Hyderabad to receive their boss.
