Governor of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana E S L Narasimhan administered oath of office to Justice Raghvendra Singh Chauhan, judge of the Telangana High Court, as Chief Justice of the court at a solemn function held at 10:30 am in Durbar Hall of Raj Bhavan today.
Chief Secretary S K Joshi initiated the program. High Court Registrar General A Venkateswar Reddy read out the warrant of the President of India appointing Singh Chauhan as the Chief Justice.
Governor Narasimhan and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao congratulated Justice Chauhan by presenting him bouquets.
Vimala Narasimhan, Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, Home Minister Mahmood Ali, Medical & Health Minister Etala Rajender, Excise Minister V Srinivas Goud, Transport and R&B Minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy, Minister for Endowments Indrakaran Reddy, DGP Mahender Reddy, judges of the High Courts of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, several officials and non-officials witnessed the ceremony.
