Pranahita-Chevella To Be National Project: Ponnala

The TPCC chief said that the Centre needed to give some more clearances, and efforts would then be enhanced to get National Project Status for the project.

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president Ponnala Lakshmaiah on Friday assured to take steps to get the National Project Status for the Pranahita Chevella project.

Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan here, Ponnala said that the Centre needed to give some more clearances for Pranahita-Chevella, and once all the clearances are accomplished, efforts would be intensified to get National Project Status for the project.

He said that only the Congress party could get national status for the project and complete it as per the schedule. He hoped that the Pranahita-Chevella project would revolutionise irrigation in the entire Telangana region.

Ponnala condemned TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao for criticising AICC President Sonia Gandhi. He said that people have stopped taking KCR's comments seriously, and have realised that only the Congress party could deliver on its promises.

He said that it was the Congress party which gave statehood to Telangana, and only the Congress could bring development to the new State. (INN)
