The Hyderabad police have arrested the man who tried to send bottles filled with polluted water to the Chief Minister of Telangana K Chandrashekar Rao, his son and TRS Working President K T Rama Rao, his (KCR's) daughter K Kavitha, DGP M Mahender Reddy and other prominent people of the State.
The accused, named Venkat, 30, residing in Monda Market, was arrested based on the CC footage recorded at the Secunderabad head post office.
The police are interrogating the man now, and are suspecting that he might have resorted to such a surprising act to tell the rulers of the State about the supply of polluted water in his area.
The authorities of the post office received a total of 62 soft drink bottles in separate packages from the accused. He gave the names of former OU VC S Ramachandram, another professor of the OU College of Engineering, and a girl who was once his classmate, as the senders of the packages.
When the officials of the post office noticed that a foul smell was emanating from the packages, they immediately informed the police authorities. The police, upon opening the packages, discovered the suspicious-looking water, and sent it to the government forensic laboratory for tests.
