Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav today warned that middlemen and local leaders would face the PD Act if they attempted to forcibly collect money from the poor for the free 2-bedroom houses in Jiyaguda or at any other place.
Yadav urged the people to not give a single paisa to anyone for the houses.
He was speaking after distributing 139 units of the houses among beneficiaries at the Gode Ki Khabar area near Nampally.
"There are reports that middlemen are looting people in Jiyaguda, and they will face the PD Act. People should not give money to such people. The government is offering these houses free of cost for the poor. The government will impose the PD Act against the leaders and middlemen if they are proved to be looting people," the minister said.
He later told the media that 192 units were still under construction.
