An Odia boy named Dinesh Jena, who left his home in Navodaya Nagar in Moulali on January 21, 2011, and had been missing since then, was traced in Ranakala village in Amritsar district of Punjab.
On receipt of a complaint from Susanna, wife of A B S Salam, that her son 13-year-old Dinesh Jena was missing since January 21, the Kushaiguda police had registered a missing persons case in 2011 and taken up investigation, but despite their best efforts, could not trace the boy.
Meanwhile, the complainant came across the missing boy on Facebook in August last year with name Dinesh Jena Lima, and alerted the cyber crimes police. The police then got the IP address and eventually traced the location of the missing boy to Ranakala village in Amritsar district.
A police team went to Punjab and traced the boy, who said he was 21 years old now. The boy, living as a Sikh now, had run away from home after a fight with his brother, and taken a train to Delhi. There he was taken in by a Sikh landlord named Subhraj Singh, of Ranakala, and has been helping till the farms of Singh.
He was brought back and introduced to his parents, who were extremely happy to see their son.
