Telangana TDP president L Ramana announced the expulsion of senior leader Motkupalli Narasimhulu, who levelled serious allegations against the party chief and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu at NTR Ghat today while paying tributes to late NTR on his birth anniversary, from the party.
Speaking to the media in Vijayawada at the party's annual Mahanadu on Monday, Ramana said that the party had taken the decision keeping the political developments that had taken place for the last six months.
He alleged that Motkupalli's behaviour at NTR Ghat was outrageous, and could hurt the party if action was not taken. Motkupalli was trying to weaken the Telangana TDP with his baseless allegations, and was trying to cosy up to Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, he said.
Chandrababu Naidu had seriously tried for a Governor position for Motkupalli, and had sought the Tamil Nadu governor post for him, but the Centre didn't offer it to him, Ramana claimed.
Reacting to his expulsion, Motkupalli Narsimhulu questioned Ramana's power to expel him. He alleged that Chandrababu Naidu had snatched the TDP flag from the late NTR, and that the party belonged to the Nandamuri family.
