Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has instructed the officials concerned to ensure the distribution of the Rythu Bandhu cheques and pattadar passbooks to each and every eligible farmer by June 2, at any cost.
The CM said that due to technical reasons at some places some farmers had not got either the passbooks or the cheques, but whatever the problems might be, by the time the new registration policy came into effect on June 2, 2018, the distribution of the passbooks and cheques needed to be completed.
"At some places for some reason or the other, cheques and passbooks could not be distributed. It could also be that a few revenue officials were irresponsible to some extent, or that the rectification of land records was not properly handled. At a time when government has been doing a lot for the benefit of the farmers with great commitment, it is unfortunate that some officials are unable to discharge their duties properly. It is high time that they changed and jumped into action on a war footing. Every eligible farmer should get the pattadar passbooks and cheques. By the time the new registration policy comes into effect on June 2, 2018, every farmer should possess the new pattadar passbooks, and all the land records should be updated," the CM instructed.
He also wants that the farmers who were unable to attend the distribution program when scheduled in their villages should be able to obtain their passbooks and cheques from the concerned MRO / Tahsildar Office.
The CM has called for a meeting with ministers and Collectors on Wednesday afternoon in Pragathi Bhavan to take stock of the progress of the whole program as of now, as well as to formulate a proper strategy for distributing the passbooks and cheques to those who are yet to get them.
