Telangana Minister for Municipal Administration & Urban Development K T Rama Rao on Monday inaugurated the much-awaited flyover at the Biodiversity Park junction at Gachibowli, bringing a lot of relief to the motorists.
The new flyover, built at a cost of Rs 69.47 crore, is expected to ease traffic congestion on the Mehdipatnam-Kukatpally route.
KTR also laid the foundation stones for three more projects to come up at a cost of Rs 330 crore. These include a six-lane bi-directional second-level flyover from Kondapur towards the ORR at the Gachibowli junction; a four-lane bi-directional flyover from Shilpa layout to the ORR near the Gachibowli junction; and a vehicular underpass across the existing gas godown road. These projects are expected to ease traffic congestion at the Gachibowli junction, besides provide better connectivity between Hi-tech City and Financial District.
All the three projects are being implemented under the Strategic Road Development Plan (SRDP).
Education Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy, Mayor Bonthu Rammohan and other officials were present.
