Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, on Saturday, said that he is ready for any sacrifice, to keep Andhra Pradesh united.
Continuing his defiance of the Congress party leadership's decision to bifurcate AP, the CM said that he would make his stand for united AP clear before the Group of Ministers (GoM) on Telangana.
The GoM, looking into various issues related to bifurcation of the state, has summoned Kiran Reddy to Delhi Nov 18, for a meeting. The meeting was originally scheduled on November 15th, but was postponed due to unknown reasons.
Addressing a public meeting as part of the "Rachabanda" programme at Rajahmundry, Kiran Kumar Reddy reiterated that the bifurcation of the state would lead to problems, especially of water, electricity, education and employment.
He claimed that Telangana will face more problems than the Seemandhra region, after the bifurcation.
The CM also said that Telugu-speaking people emerged stronger and achieved progress in all sectors because of a united Andhra Pradesh.
Major projects like the Nagarjuna Sagar and Srisailam became a reality only because of unity, he stated.
The CM has already hinted he is ready to sacrifice his post to keep the state united.
He has expressed his views against the party's decision, on several occasions over the past 2 months.
He is demanding that the central government reconsider its decision to bifurcate the state.
Also, he reportedly sent letters to President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, finding fault with the way the central government took the decision.
