Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president Ponnala Lakshmaiah on Saturday described Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao as the main accused in the suicides of farmers in Telangana.
Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan, Ponnala said that it was unfortunate that the first Chief Minister of Telangana himself was responsible for the suicides of nearly 300 farmers.
He ridiculed KCR for targeting AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, and described the move as an attempt to hide his own failures.
He accused KCR of playing with the lives of people, especially those of the farmers, for his own political gains.
He criticised the Chief Minister for downplaying the farmers' suicides.
He said that the Congress Party would provide the list of farmers to KCR if the latter was not aware of the intensity of the problem.
Ponnala also accused KCR of having failed to get 54% share of power from Andhra Pradesh to Telangana. (INN)
