Congress MP N Uttam Kumar Reddy, referring to the statement by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao during the latter's high-level review meeting with officials and district Collectors yesterday, said that the Chief Minister had insulted the village Sarpanches with his comments.
Reddy asked the CM how he would spend the funds meant for the development of the villages without the involvement of the Sarpanches.
He also asked KCR how he could oppose the objective of the decentralisation of powers, and called upon the Sarpanches and other rural local body public representatives to condemn the statement of the CM.
He alleged that KCR was utilising the union and State government funds in an arbitrary manner, and that the main objective of KCR was to loot the State treasury.
He said that that was the master plan behind KCR's raising objections to the release of the union government funds directly to the villages of the State.
Reddy asserted that the Centre should directly release the funds to the villages.
He also alleged that the CM had constituted the State Finance Commission primarily to run the State with the help of his family members, and also that the CM was releasing the funds of the MGNREGS to the people of his choice.
