Jagan Supports United Andhra

Jaganmohan Reddy has publicly come out in support of a united Andhra Pradesh in the Lok Sabha, and against the division of the state.
Hyderabad | 15th December 2009
Jaganmohan Reddy ("Jagan"), son of YSR and allegedly the author of many a script that he modestly refuses to take credit for, set the cat among the pigeons today in the Lok Sabha when he joined the TDP in bullying the Speaker in the chorus for a united Andhra Pradesh.

From the seemingly indefensible posture where he publicly took on his own party supremo who authorized a separate Telangana in the first place, Jagan still managed to find a way out. He said he loves the people of Telangana and cannot bear to get separated from them. Angels would weep.

Blaming TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu for the current stalemate in the state, he said that if Naidu hadn't agreed to support a move for a separate Telangana in an all-party meet on the issue, things wouldn't have reached this head. He claimed that he joined the fracas for a united state in the Lok Sabha as he did not want the TDP to walk away with all the credit for standing for a united state.

He said that he wanted a golden Telangana but not a separate Telangana.

Jagan's statement has visibly rattled the Telangana MLAs/MPs of the Congress, who are yet avoiding comments on the issue. In a media interview in New Delhi, V Hanumantha Rao deftly side-stepped questions on the issue.
