Anjani Kumar, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad, attended a trial on Wednesday in the seventh AMSJ Court, Nampally.
The trial involved a case dealing with a murder in the Shahinayatgunj Police Station limits in which a rowdy sheeter had killed a person, and was presided over by judge Y Satyendra.
The Commissioner attended the proceedings basically to mingle with and provide encouragement to the investigating officers, the court duty officer and the Public Prosecutor (Public Prosecutor P Shailaja represented the government in the case).
Kumar had a long discussion with the PP, and then witnessed the proceedings of the day in the trial in the court room.
This is perhaps the first time that a Commissioner of Police has attended a trial just to motivate his team of investigators and prosecutors.
