Cyberabad Police Commissioner V C Sajjanar today issued an order prohibited the bursting of noise-emitting fire crackers on public roads and in public places for Deepavali.
In a notification, Sajjanar stated that in accordance with the recent directions issued by the Supreme Court, there would be a complete ban on the bursting of sound-emitting firecrackers on public roads and in public places in the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate limits except between 8 pm and 10 pm.
The noise level between 8 pm to 10 pm from crackers, and from drums and other instruments, should not exceed the permissible limits as notified by the Pollution Control Board, he added.
The ban order will be in force from 6 am on October 26 to 6 am on October 29.
He cautioned the public that any person violating the order would be prosecuted under the Hyderabad City Police Act and other relevant laws in force.
