Probably trying to diminish the impact of the media speculation of differences between them, IT and Municipal Administration Minister K T Rama Rao today said that Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao and he were just like brothers.
Addressing party leaders of Sircilla at his Begumpet residence along with Harish Rao, KTR asserted that there were no differences between Harish Rao and him. "We have grown up like brothers since childhood, and are now competing with each other only in the development of our constituencies and ministries," he said.
"All of the TRS leaders are of the opinion that KCR should be the Chief Minister for the next 10 to 15 years in Telangana," KTR added.
Harish Rao endorsed KTR's comments. He said that he had been trying to develop Siddipet for the past decade, but KTR had developed Sircilla in just four and a half years. Sircilla which was noted mostly for suicides by weavers had developed significantly during the TRS rule, with the weavers of the town getting higher incomes and producing the famous Bathukamma sarees, and KTR would get the lion's share of the credit for that, Harish Rao said. The weavers' town would develop further in future with the Kaleshwaram waters and the textiles park, he added.
