A misprint on the ballot papers for the GHMC elections held today has necessitated a re-election for Old Malakpet's ward 26.
The Telangana State Election Commission (SEC) revealed that the ballot papers had been printed with the symbol of the CPM - a hammer, a sickle and a star - instead of the correct CPI symbol - ears of corn, and a sickle.
The election officials found the mistake and informed the SEC, which immediately decided to reschedule the elections in the ward.
SEC Commissioner Partha Sarathi said that the re-election would be conducted across 69 polling stations on December 3 from 7 am to 6 pm.
