The Anti-Corruption Bureau court, on Saturday, remanded former judge T Lakshmi Narasimha Rao and a real estate dealer R Surya Prakash Babu - both of whom are accused in the cash-for-bail scam of former Karnataka minister and mining baron Gali Janardhan Reddy - to 4 days of ACB custody from Sunday.
The court, while remanding them to the ACB's custody, directed the probing agency to interrogate them in the presence of their lawyers from 11am to 5pm. The court also directed the ACB not to use third degree methods to elicit information from them.
According to the ACB, during the interrogation, Lakshmi Narasimha Rao had confessed that Dasaradharami Reddy, a relative of Gali, had made a Rs. 100 crore offer to get bail granted to Gali Janardhan Reddy. He also said that R Surya Prakash Babu was a mediator in the transfer of money. (INN)
