Telangana Panchayat Raj Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao today slammed the BJP state in-charge Tarun Chugh, who has come to the state to participate in the BJP's campaign for the upcoming MLC elections, claiming that the latter was carrying out a misinformation campaign against the state government.
"The BJP leaders, led by national-level leaders like Tarun Chugh, are trying to come to power by spreading lies against the TRS government and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. But they should realise that such base acts will not help them come to power as the people will see right through their tactics. The people themselves are aware that the BJP is carrying out a misinformation campaign against the TRS government as they know that the government is deeply committed to their welfare. Even the Centre has appreciated our welfare programs. So, the BJP's attempts to malign the government will not work," he said.
"The people also know that the BJP-led union government ignored the recommendations of the Niti Aayog, of extending aid worth Rs. 24,000 crore to the state, and failed to give any funds for the state's flood victims despite repeated appeals by the CM and other leaders. If the BJP leaders in the state are truly committed to the people, they should prove it by securing funds for Telangana's development," he added.
As both the TRS and the BJP gear up for the upcoming Nagarjuna Sagar Assembly constituency by-election and the graduates' constituencies MLC elections in the state, the exchange of allegations between the two parties has been turning progressively uglier. Just yesterday, TRS leader M S Prabhakar Rao
condemned the BJP's "anti-KCR" rhetoric, claiming that the party was spreading lies for political mileage.
