Panchayat Raj Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao today lashed out at senior Congress leader and former minister K Jana Reddy yet again for "lying" about the Mission Bhagiratha water supply program, and urged the latter to refrain from doing so.
The minister flayed the Congress leader, who had recently said that his village, Anumula, was yet to get the benefits of the scheme, for resorting to a "false campaign" to slander the program.
He expressed his displeasure at the comments, saying, "Though initially the Mission Bhagiratha water supply was delayed due to technical problems, there is no such issue anymore. Its water supply systems are providing water to all the villages in the district, including Jana Reddy's. Being a senior leader, he should stop indulging in cheap politics and spreading misinformation."
Rao also assailed the Congress leaders in the state for habitually levelling "false charges" of corruption against the TRS government, and asked them to refrain from doing so.
"Jana Reddy's remarks are hardly surprising as the leaders of the Congress are accustomed to making false charges of corruption and irregularities against our government. This, even when they are themselves benefitting from the various welfare schemes being implemented by us. They should stop spreading lies," he said.
This is the second time that Dayakar Rao has targeted Jana Reddy for his comments about the Mission Bhagiratha program. He had earlier accused the Congress leader of
lying about the program for political reasons.
All this was prompted by comments Reddy made about the ruling party - he had alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was known for making countless false promises to the people of the state, and had said, "KCR had claimed that he would not seek votes for the upcoming elections in the state if his government failed to complete the Mission Bhagiratha works. However, he is doing so even though my village is yet to get the benefit of the scheme."
