Congress Slams KCR For Transferring IAS Officers
The party said the Telangana CM had given the "gift of transfer" to honest civil servants who had obstructed the irregularities of the ruling party MLAs.
Congress Legislature Party deputy leader Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy charged the state government with needlessly transferring IAS officials succumbing to the pressure of ruling party leaders, saying Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had given the "gift of transfer" to honest civil servants who had obstructed the irregularities of the ruling party MLAs.
Speaking to the media on Thursday at the Assembly media point, Ponguleti said that the state government had transferred A Sri Devasena and Preeti Meena, the Collectors of Jangaon and Mahabubabad districts respectively, for putting a check on the irregularities of the local MLAs. This would demoralize civil servants across the state, he said.
Readers will recollect that TRS Mahabubabad MLA Shankar Naik touched then Collector Preeti Meena's shoulder and pushed her during a Haritha Haram program in July 2017, which resulted in the Collector filing a police case against him and the MLA being arrested and released on bail. And Sri Devasena had accused Jangaon TRS MLA Muttireddy Yadagiri Reddy of encroaching five acres of a local lake.
