Telangana Congress leaders levelled serious allegations against CM K Chandrashekar Rao over the construction of lift irrigation projects in the state.
They alleged that the CM was trying earn huge amounts in commissions through the projects.
TPCC president and MP N Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the party would hold a protest program against the "contrived" Pothireddypadu head regulator issue on June 2, the Telangana Formation Day.
He said that no state government of the country had invited tenders for lift irrigation projects except the Telangana government.
He alleged that KCR had also finalised the Kaleshwaram and Dummugudem projects for an 8% commission.
He claimed that a relative of KCR, Muralidhar Rao, was taking care of all the deals on behalf of the CM, and added that Rao was being given an extension every year despite his retirement from service.
Commenting on the decision of the CM to extend Rythu Bandhu benefits only to those who cultivated crops suggested by the state government, Reddy said that the farmers of the state would oppose it, and that the farmers would always cultivate crops that were suitable to their lands.
