The Osmania University campus was "on boil" again over the Telangana issue.
The City Police on Monday foiled an attempt by the students of Osmania University to take out a rally to Raj Bhavan.
The OU students rallied, demanding the introduction of Telangana Bill in the Parliament with amendments, giving absolute control of law and order to the Telangana government.
However, the security personnel, who were present in large numbers, stopped the students at the NCC gate.
The students raised slogans against the "anti-Telangana" forces and entered into a heated argument with the police officials.
A few students were also taken into custody when they tried to break the security cordon.
Following stone pelting by some students, the police lobbed tear-gas shells on them.
The students also set on fire a few tyres and 3 trunks in the campus.
Meanwhile, the Panjagutta Police arrested a few students who tried to hold protests in front of the Raj Bhavan. (INN)
