C S Rangarajan also said that rapists should be castrated.

Chilkur Balaji temple chief priest C S Rangarajan today said that those who treated women as an object of entertainment must be branded "Rapasuras", and hacked or hanged.
He also said that rapists should be castrated.
He said that most otherwise kind-hearted people also shared that opinion.
The priest visited Disha's house on Wednesday to commiserate with the parents of the veterinary doctor, who was gang-raped and burnt by four men last week.
He said that he had no words to console the family, and that all of society was grieving with them.
The temple had suspended darsanam and pradakshinams on Saturday as a mark of respect for the girl, he said.
"The girl was mauled and killed by four demons. We need a society where every citizen takes up the rolce of Jatayu in the Ramayana, who put up a valiant fight against demon king Ravana to save Sita maata. We have several legislations for the safety of women, but they alone cannot come to the rescue of women from perverts. We need to counsel our youth to be saviours and not demons," he said.
Rangarajan also said, "We appreciate the police for nabbing the culprits within 24 hours, but the SHOs of the police stations should behave more responsibly."
"Now, the baton is with the judiciary," he added, but expressed pessimism given that even after seven years the guilty in the infamous Nirbhaya case were being "fed tasty food instead of being hanged".
"The higher judiciary should not have the discretion of commuting the death sentence, especially in rape cases. And there should be a maximum of six months allowed for execution. The society is very angry at the blindness of the judiciary," he added.
