Telangana Congress MLA T Jayaprakash Reddy, known commonly as Jagga Reddy, today lashed out at the party's rivals, the TRS and the BJP, and claimed that the two parties, who were only "pretending" to be rivals, were actually conspiring to destroy the Congress in the state.
He added that the MIM was also plotting against the Congress.
Reddy also alleged that the three parties were working only to further their own political motives, and claimed that unlike them, the Congress had always worked for the development of the state and the country, and would continue to do so.
To prove his claim that there was no rivalry between the TRS and the BJP, the MLA cited Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's much-talked-of Delhi visit.
"During the trip, the CM met prominent BJP leaders like Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. If the TRS and the BJP were rivals, would he do that?" he asked.
Reddy then targeted BJP state president Bandi Sanjay Kumar, saying that though the latter had made repeated statements that the party would get the CM arrested, such an arrest would never take place.
"Bandi Sanjay repeatedly talks about getting the CM arrested. I want to ask him to reveal the date, time and location of the purported arrest. He will not be able to do so. This is because the BJP and the TRS are not really rivals. They simply pretend to be, to mislead the people of the state," the Congress leader said.
