MIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi today slammed the Congress leadership over a banner put up by its activists during a protest against the Election Commission over its conduct of the recent Assembly elections.
The banner shows the voters as Draupadi, the EC as Dhritarasthra, and the EROs, DEOs and Telangana CEO as Dushasana. It shows KCR and Owaisi looking on as Draupadi (a metaphor for democracy in Telangana) is being stripped.
Owaisi alleged that the Congress was playing cheap dramas as it could not digest its "unceremonious" defeat in the Assembly polls, and that the party was crossing its limits.
The MIM supremo also sought to know whether the Congress would accept a similar banner showing AICC chief Rahul Gandhi and newly appointed General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi.
The Congress had staged a protest at Dharna Chowk against the Election Commission citing irregularities during the recent Assembly polls.
