The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday arrested a woman Tehsildar and recovered huge cash, gold and other property in her house during the raid.
The ACB conducted searches in the house of V Lavanya, Tahsildar of Keshampet in Ranga Reddy district, in Hayathnagar, a suburb of Hyderabad, and recovered cash of Rs 93.5 lakh and 420 grams of gold jewelry.
A farmer named M Bhaskar had approached the ACB complaining against the VRO of Dattayapally village, Antaiah, on Wednesday, for demanding a Rs 8-lakh bribe on behalf of the Tahsildar for updating his land record online.
Acting on the complaint, the ACB caught the VRO red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 4 lakh from the complainant, and on the basis of information given by the VRO, raided the house of the Tehsildar.
Lavanya was taken to the ACB office in Nampally for interrogation.
