The Akhil Bharatiya Vidhyarthi Parishad (ABVP) will undertake Telangana Vidhyarthi Maha Padayatra from November 26 to December 7 in all districts of the region.
Addressing a press conference at Somajiguda Press Club here on Saturday, ABVP National Secretary Kadiyam Raju and State Secretary Pandu Ranga Reddy informed that the padayatra would begin simultaneously from Bodhan, Karimnagar, Bhupallapalle, Narayanpet and Kodad.
The ABVP Presidents of Osmania, Kakatiya, Satavahana, Telangana and Mahatma Gandhi Universities will lead the padayatras from different locations.
The padayatra will culminate into a public meeting in the Osmania University campus on December 7. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan and other senior leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party will address the meeting.
The ABVP leaders said that the padayatra was aimed at creating awareness among the people, especially the students, about the need for formation of separate Telangana. They said the padayatra would enthrall the people to differentiate between the real and fake supporters of Telangana.
Condemning the padayatras being undertaken by TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu and YSR Congress leader Sharmila, they said both the leaders have opposed the separate Telangana. Therefore, he said people in the region would never believe those leaders and parties. (INN)
