In a major anti-narcotics operation, the Kollur police and the Special Operations Team (SOT), Serilingampally Zone, arrested two drug peddlers and seized 101 kilograms of ganja worth Rs 25.72 lakh near Tellapur.
The police arrested Baswa Jaganatham (37), a farmer from Vizianagaram district, and Pallapu Laxminarayana (52) from Puttaparthi district, both natives of Andhra Pradesh. Four mobile phones were also seized during the operation.
The main supplier, identified as Raju from Odisha, remains absconding.
According to the police, the accused targeted labourers at construction sites and allegedly sold ganja near labour camps at Shilpa Venture in Tellapur. The contraband was reportedly supplied around 10 days earlier, before the duo was intercepted by the police teams.
