Yes, "Ignorance is Bliss" till you try to stick a Cigar up your ass. All you are left with is a Smelly Cigar and a burnt Ass.

But seriously, Ignorance is a bliss if you treat it like one. That it has its repurcussions. Knowing your options makes you aware. Being aware is how we humans are different from the rest of the living things.

If you choose not to be aware "Ignorance is bliss". Sometimes not knowing your options is a good thing. But not always!

Read this somewhere, 'If ignorance is bliss, then why do we seek knowledge'?
Whether you think you can, or you think you can't, you are right.

Imagine living in a land where no one knows what electricity is. Which obviously means that they do not know what TV is. So they are not sad that they cant watch TV because they are ignorant of the fact that TV is existing. But in reality, TV is existant and to traumatise it even more, imagine the sadness of a little kid coming home from school wanting to watch his favourite program on tele and power goes off for maybe a couple of days! how "blissful" will the kid be knowing that there is Tv, there is his favourite program on it and he still cant watch it!

Why would we want to know more about something which is far from our thought? DO we really seek knowledge?

Imagine living in a land where

- If someone gets hurt, their legs/parts have to be amputated because they would fester and lead to eventual death. Solution - Detol!

- People would die of a malaria for the lack of medicine. Solution - Quinine.

If it wouldnt have been for knowledge or the human tendancy to seek the truth we would have been animals or something like that. Just another species wandering the earth.

Ignorance is not bliss. Ignorance is a bane!

I would call him stupid too!

but what has this got to do with what we were discussing about?

living in the darkness has made my ability to make a connection between 2 arguements and make sense out of them very very weak.

sorry about that!
