I beg to disagree, we are animals too, just a different kind. The kind that can think on a totally different plane. Sometimes I think we complicate things by creating unnnecesary bonds, yet for some reason I agree with the concept of marraige. I have yet to come to terms as to "why marraige?".
Also, Size of brain has got nothing to do with our moralities. I think the animal world is a far more civilized place than what we humans have created. But they dont have the concept of marraige. They live by rules and maintain harmony and peace with nature. But we... we have gone far beyond that. So is having a bigger brian good. I think... Sometimes ignorance is bliss.

SpyGlass: I think we grow in cycles of Seven years, When we are 7 we begin understanding and grasping things, by 14 we are having our first crushes, and emotions, by 21 we become sexually active or marry. I guess every 7 years we change as a person and when that happens we yearn to be with new people. So on and so forth, do you see the numbers7,14,21... I dont know this for sure, but I am just putting it out there.
Basically, Love is natures way of fooling us to beleive we are ready for intimacy. Everybody exists to procreate and perpetuate the species. If for some reason we are not doing that, the body(i.e. the brain) does weird things to make you do it. I dont know where marraige fits into this picture. May be it was conceived to preserve intermixing of gene pools by our elders. I dont know, but it is a custom unique to a very few species in the world.
