Ctrl bhai, I\'ve been living in this city for the last 10 years. I would like to know more about the \'social transformation\' that occured in Hyd about 5 - 6 years ago or around that time, coz I can remember of no such spectacular occurances like you describe. By any chance, are you referring to some personal experience of yours (like \'growing up\' for instance

u r right...there has always been this double standards when it comes to our family girls falling in love! even in movies, its perfectly alright for the hero to sing rain songs with the heroine but he explodes if he comes to know his \'chellai\' is going around with some guy!!!
 
 but we have to change our attitudes and outlook regarding the next generation. the society is becoming more open in these matters and it can be expected that our kids (boys or girls) wud be having romantic relations with opposite sex. u wud have noticed that there are more opportunities to date on the sly these days.
 
 if it happens 2 yr kid, be happy and thank yr stars if its the opposite sex he she is involved with...heh heh!!
 
 and for people who doubt if hydbad girls are changing, plz visit any of the malls or pubs. u\'ll be shocked.
 
 its another debate whether the change is good or bad, but we have to be ready and open with our children. restrictions on children will only boomerang on the parents.
 the parents and teachers have to give proper advise to kids and guide them in these matters like friends.

 Your son would obviously date some man\'s daughter, right? Do you expect that man to be worried 24 hours a day about his daughter? On the other hand, if your son dates another guy, well .. lets leave it at that !!
 
 Anyway I\'ve watched a few telugu movies and from what I understood, the hero (I think his name is Krishna) gets into a fit when his dear sister, dressed up in the village sari, smiles at the guy around the corner. But Kris dances and sings a half dozen songs in different places with his lady love, dressed in regular shirts/trousers, considered relatively taboo or hip during their era. And when he marries his lady love, she becomes almost unrecognizable with a sari and a new hairdo !! And I have to wonder what the heck is going on?
 
 I think a major part of the slow growth of liberation in India is movies, where you always have the hero who is the ultimate savior, the heroine who is the ultimate hip girl who becomes the ultimate aunty after marriage, the sister who either gets raped and is waiting for her brother to take revenge (cuz she is too weak or volatile or prefers to kill herself for whatever reason!!) and then you have the mothers of the hero/heroine who give a lot of grandma advise about what good girls should do, wear, etc, and last but not the least the villains who are always seen in the company of girls in shirts/trousers (makes it look as if criminal girls are always in those outfits)
 
 Hmm probably we need to sign a petition getting Indian movie makers give more quality movies instead of harboring on the same theme since the history of Indian cinema. That way we pro\'lly will have better quality movies which don\'t judge women on what they wear, who they speak to, who they move around with, etc.
