Love and marriage

Do love-marriages last? Then why is it that so many of them break up??? Is it love - REAL LOVE - or infatuation that always takes you to the alter? Why is \"...love an\'t enough\"?

Marriage and love are two different things.... only in the younger days do they look the ultimate ...after a few years so called \'love\' fades away. If you can bring together, then its heaven or else its Hell!!!

WOW! Neelima! thats a whole lot of one lineers you piled up in one post!!!! but i get your point..i\'ve seen Love and it works ..how? simple ..you like/love a person so so so much ..that you tend to compromise on a few things ..and come to know/accept the flaws in that person ..cuz you love the other person ..dont ask me why you\'d love a person so much ..that\'s just a mystery ! but real love does exist ..but it\'s \"real\" in the true sense of the world , as in ..it\'s not \"ideal\" love like we see in the movies. But it\'s love that works and it\'s love that makes everyday life a whole lot better and worth !!!

By the way, I\'m totally maxed out posting on \"marriage\" based discussion boards!!!!! but ..well ..it\'s just that i strongly believe in love and marriage ..and i just cant let my mind be blank about it !!! hehehhe!

Love is a must in marraige, but it\'s not that you always marry the person that you love, coz it fails. We are in INDIA, and Indians are always with their family. So, many times love doesn\'t work...

Do you think that arranged marriages last bcuz of love??
they last bcuz of 1) helplessness of the women, and
2) responsibility of parents towards their children. In love marriages these are ruled out ...and so more chances of divorce.

Do you think that arranged marriages last because of love?? They last because of 1) helplessness of the women, and 2) responsibility of parents towards their children. In love marriages (1) is ruled out... And so more chances of divorce.

Kya neelima! Who needs marriage? When love is everywhere? Love yourself - no one is as wonderful as oneself. And marriage? Who cares???

Hello Nita! Yes you are right. Love is everywhere if you can look for and feel it. But some persons need marriage to feel the love. What is your view? This is Servesh from Dallas...

Sarvesh, marriage is commitmemt... not many will like to give love life-long, even if they think they can. They never do, becoz everything is transitory, nothing is permanent. Hence I presume we call for marriage to \"FORCE ...love\". ONLY FEW HAVE THE LOVE IN MARRIAGE... What do you want?

Still, Nita... That doesn\'t stop anyone from loving or getting married. Thinking about an uncertain future which may or may not happen - everything is transitory... And it isn\'t the excuse for running away from what life has to offer!!
- The guilt of the kiss is not in the lips, but in its bliss...

Hello Nita, love is uncertain - it can happen to anyone at any time at any place... and marriage is not \"force to love\". Yes, it is a long term commitment. This is human nature - as you stay for a long time with someone, your passion for that human gradually decreases. The same applies to marriage, life and even love affairs. Nothing is stable, it changes from time to time like software changes. Servesh from Dallas...

Hi Neelima! Loving and marrying and marrying and then loving are both the same philosopy. Ultimately it is the love and the concern you have for your partner. Who said love marriages are a failure? Certainly not. I would give 100 marks for love marriages becuase you have a scope to understand each others\' feelings before you get committed and later grieve... I know many arranged marriages where the girl would see her life partner only in the first night room - it could be either a pleasant surprise or a rude shock...

Servesh, honestly tell me, why do love marriages become so ugly? And why do many break and shatter away?

One of the reasons could be that all the excitement about getting married is over - as you know each other so well before the marriage, there\'s nothing new left to discover, and maybe one of the partners starts taking things for granted. IN OTHER WORDS, NO MORE FIZZ LEFT!

In most cases I know, 99.9 % Men treat wife differently than Girl friend. Its more common in any where in world. Its one of the hard facts girls need to digest in love marriages. The only advantage in Arranged marriage is expectations are minimum and you don’t expect queen treatment but occasional favors make girls quite happy.
Just understand the facts and get going. As long as women don’t complain, men have pertinence. Families will flourish with love.

For marriage to last - its not love before marriage but love after marriage that counts.

And for that - Its not about finding the right person but about being the right person.
