My observations of Dr APJ Kalam

by vivek of themavericks.. remember!! » Fri Jul 19, 2002 10:22 pm

I knew Dr Kalam since a long time, yesnot because he is the president today, but i knew him ever since he was the director of Defence research development laboratory(DRDL),thats because i stay in that quarters which happens to be the residence quarters for the defence scientists working in DRDL.DLRL,DMRL and few others. Its herein hyderabad. He was a very humble person always. His body language, his choice of words and absolute simplicity is what made him an extremly popular personality.I guess he always believed in doing his job all by himself,we used to observe him many times,he used to go from his residence in lab qrts to buy a pack of bread and butter.he used to talk in a polite tone,so characteristic of a person with so prejudice what so ever.I am not at all surprised to see as a president of India.Although he know not much about the dirt called politics, but i am quite sure he deserves a place right up there. After he left hyderabad and over to defence ministry,he used to frequent Lab qrts here in Hyderbad,i am told by so many employees of the MESS(thats where the guest house is,where he stays)the he has an alloted room.My father payed a visit to his room and told me that his room reflects simplicity ..just like him.A man far away from materialsm,so far that he would have probably forgotten the definition of the same!.I am very sure he won`t be using more than 1% of the Rashtrapathi Bhavan. We need people like him today, its just we get involved in acts thats not really meant for us,but for other cause delay in achiveing sucess. The error margin also increases significantly. We finally have a president who would know every bit of the equipment that would be paraded in the eve of Republic day,he would do more than just stand..he would observe.I have even intercated with dr Arun Tewqari, the co-author of \"Wings of fire\",he agrees with whatever i just wrote.Kudos to Dr Kalam. And incase Dr Kalam if you are reading, please throw a party here in qrts sir!

But seriously, Dr.Abdul Kalam is certainly a man of highest degree to take the place of the President of India. I certainly wish him all the best for his future endeavours and hope he retains the image he has develpoed for himslef in the hearts of all Indians. Jai Hind!!!

ok , its really good to have an technical guru as the president of india , may be for the first time.but the question is does the president of india has any powers to bring a change in anything thats happening in the country like corruption, sceince and technology etc?I feel that whoever is the POI , its doesnt makes any diference to our country. We all know what the repv POIs did?Basically its a dummy chair.Pople will talk about him for a few days and then nobody will remember him except on two days when he makes a public appearnce , the republic day and independence day.

You are absolutely right, its dummy chair by all means.but the president does enjoy some constitutional rights. He can simply pull the shutters down of the house of the commons, but this is a rare event.Actually,i have thought a lot about Dr Kalam\'s capability and now i am sure in what i think-its a waste of his efforts. This is a classic example of what someone said-not every improvement is good.Dr Kalam being the president of india would infact be a substantial blow to the India\'s missle programme.Although he has catagoricaly stated that his involvement in the missle programe would not reduce but i am sure even he knows, the presidential protocol would be an impediment in every which way.Let see what happens.Next,i guess its Dr Kasturirangan Chairman ISRO(the guys who dream of putting an India on the moon by 2030!!!!),as India\'s Prime minister!!....Scary!

hmmm........Dr.Kalam, the missile man of India , earned all the adulation from the most of the ppl in the country, true his missiles developed are actually of limited use to the army, the only achievement a surface to surface short range misile, others hardly any threat to pakistan, and the agni which is a supposed deterent against china is only a distant dream, yet, he is the \"misile man\" of India.....this person i believe has succeded in a great way in selling his dreams to the nation, raised a lot of expectations and to a lil extent encouraged ppl around him....ne way i am happy atleast now he got the rt job to do....
