Hyderabad Metro Rail has been planned a while ago and still there is no progress. Personally i don't think it will make a huge difference in the traffic system, because it's not the transport system that is bad in our nation but the elements of that system (you and me) are bad. By bad I mean, not vary of others. If this metro rail happens to be a reality it will perhaps make things better, but what concerns me is the duration that Government will take to make it run. Just imagine how horrible the traffic conditions will be during it's implementation. Metro Rail or No Metro Rail, a better driving sense and an enhanced traffic etiquette will enhance our entire traffic eco-system and our nightmares of traffic will stop.

yes,of course the metro rail will help hyderabad in many aspects. today you can see the MMTS rails heavyly packed with the people in hyderabad. This is because there is no other better option for them to travel faster to their destinations. But if the metro rails come into existence in hyderabad, it would save lot of time for the people who are in hurry as these trains travel even faster than MMTS, and also the rush would be probably less in both MMTS and metro.Thereby improving the quality of transport in hyderabad.

oh yes...this is gonna help Hyderabad very much. Not only in increasing the status of Hyderabad considering among the metropolitan cities like Delhi and Mumbai which already have metro rail option in them.Not only this but also it helps the people of Hyderabad travel faster than ever before and also by decreasing the stress which is on MMTS in carrying loads and loads of people everytime. Meto rail for sure can be attributed to 'status', 'pride', 'leisure', 'convenience', 'economical' etc. In my opinion Metro rail will definitely help Hyderabad. However there are pros and cons for each and every new development and Metro rail is no exception. It will for sure create some inconveniece to daily commuters (for example the soil testing done for Metro Rail from Road no 5 Jubilee Hills to Hitex itself created some traffic jams!). However there are more pros than cons and metro rail will definitely prove to be a boon in times to come.

P.S : The writer is a native of UP, studied in Mumbai and working/residing in Hyderabad since past 5 years now!
