u cant 'purchase' EQ tickets. u need to reserve a waitlisted ticket first. then write a letter to a high official in the Railways and drop it along with a copy of the ticket in a drop box at Rail Nilayam. it wud help greatly if u know someone there.

I'm a foreign "tourist" and did sth in b'lore. There you have to fill out an EQ application form and drop it in a box in the "Commercial Divisional Railway..." building next to the city station.

Only Information they needed was PNR of WL-Ticket and No. of Passport.



So, are there also some application forms in HYD? Where or what is "Rail Nilayam"?

Still the doubt remains.
See, Exactly Four hours before the scheduled departure of the train the Chart get published.

Beleive me just 05 minutes before the Chart is published the WL IS 40.
Suddenly it becomes CONFIRMED.
Hence there is some factor which does this miracle.
I beleive some railway staff can explain this.

If the WaitList exceeds more than 20 - 30 + some RAC, an extra compartment is added to accomdate all the passengers. This is how WL50 suddenly gets a confirmed seat in 5 min

they wud have those forms at Rail Nilayam. RN houses the HQ of the South Central Railway of which hydbad is a part. its in secunderabad, abt a kilometer and half from the railway stn.
