[Help] Suggest Something.....

by Ku Klux Klan » Tue Mar 29, 2005 9:50 pm

Hi there again......

I thank all who have helped me out the last time.I cleared GECIS 2nd round but did'nt make it past the final one.

Now I am planning to come down to Hyderabad again. This time I have in mind to pursue a software course.Since I have very Few friends out there in Hyderabad,I thought it would be best to ask here.

Last time when I was in Hyderabad,I had visited the Amirpet area and it was full of computer institutes. Not all of them are good i think. If anyone can tell which one is good and which one is bad,it will be helpful to me.

Regarding the course,I have laid down three options in front of me.

1)JAVA/J2EE

2) .Net/ASP/VB

3) MCSA/MCSE/CCNA like Certification Programme.

Now I ask you to suggets me what is suitable regarding the curent market scenario.Alsd are there any institutes which provide any of the above courses with placement assistance?

My Folks want me to pursue GMAT.But for a fresher, getting admission into a top notch University is sort-of tough i heard. So I was thinking of getting a Job first and then go for GMAT.But as you all know, there is a severe shortage of Jobs for Freshers.

Any IT Professionals out here who can Forward my Resume for a Nice Job or maybe recruit me in any of their companies? I assure you that i won't let you down.

What do you experienced people suggest?

Hey KKK,

Lmme tell u one thing.Do not go for a certification course Just because you

want to do so.Evaluate your career goals and plan the steps accordingly.

Don't treat the certifications as Just another Ladder to getting a Job.There

are ppl who r jobless even after doing Java & .net etc....

What matters is ur attitude & confidence in urself. If u r a Freher,

give urself some time & search for a suitable job.Don't give up so easily.

All the best.

Super Advice!!!

I stand a little further down the road than ycr, so here is more:

Don't take any certification course until just before you apply for a job. The technologies change soo rapidly that any course you do (unless it is in c/c++/java or Oracle/Dev 2000) will be shit in 3 months.

VB .net is over-rated horseshit (I was a programmer when VB 4 was arnd, so I know my VB). Proceed in VB waters with extreme caution. They change versions/technologies faster than you can say 'Hello World.'

Thanks for the advice.

I Landed in Hyd & the first thing I did was to walk into the NIIT CATS centre

at Secunderabad. They are the accredited Training partners for Microsoft in India. They had on offer Microsoft MCSE/MCSA courses which I think ar epretty Hot in the market.

What do u suggest?

And Sharjel & ycr,I agree that it is naive to think that just doing a certification course will land me a job.but even after 8 months have elapesd since i have graduated and i do have decent percentages & all,i find myself unemployed.I have appeared may MNC's recruitment drives but i almost always get seeded out in the Final calls. So i think doing a certification course will not only increase my scope but also will enable me to explore various avenues as well.

I Once more implore anyone who's working any a top notch company to please intimate me about any good jobs on offer.
