I am a writer who is planning to write about Hyderabadi Haleem for a chapter in a book I am writing. I am looking for anyone who has some special knowledge of this dish.
For example:
1. What is its history in the city? How come it came to be associated with Ramzan and when did this tradition of it being served during the Ramzan fast start?
2. Any food experts out there who can tell me the history of haleem? How a food from Iran became such a part of Hyderabadi culture?
3. How does religion play into this?
3. Anyone know members of the families who own the most famous restaurants (Pista etc) who cook and serve this dish?
Anything else you know about this -- any cool links you may have. I am basically trying to get educated on this topic and I know all of you out there will know much more than me.
