[Bad Experience at Bottles and Chimnieys]

I had heard a lot about the Bottles and Chimnieys Pub and was waiting for the right occasion to visit it, i decided to take my friends out there who were visiting me from mumbai. We went there on a friday night (12th March 10), and went through a horrible experience.

First the parking was way off the place and no valet was standing there to offer the parking.

Upon entering, we were straight away refused saying wednesday to sunday is couples only entry!!

After some amount of pacification, the bouncer says i will let you in if your friend wears shoes and comes, i didn't see any dress code any where but his semi shoes (which were open from back) were not accepted. (luckily we had sport shoes in his bag in the car which we changed to)

Then after all was fine, the bouncer asks for Rs 1500 for entry. I said i will only pay for the cover charges, which he said are Rs 1000, where the other guy said are Rs 500 !!

Finally we had to pay 1500, where 1000 were the food/beverages charges.

Once inside, no waiters were there to assist us and there was no clarity on the orders, we ordered hooka and had to repeatedly call some one to change the coals. After some time they came over and said hooka time is only for 1 hour so we won't replace it now.


We ordered drinks which took years to come, and same happened with the snacks.

IPL was playing live there and there was no option to have a private place to just sit back and talk, we had to scream and talk.

Final nail in the wall was hit when we were paying the bill, the prices written in the menu were different from what was recorded in the bill, when i raised the issue they said (we gave you the old menu) now is that my fault!!??

Then when i spoke to the same bouncer, he was so polite and acted as if he doesn't know any english.

Sadly the place was full of stags so i was wondering for what were the cover charges.

Overall it was a pathetic experience and i would not recommend any one to go there ever.. Quantity of items is also less, HRC and 10DS are way better.

I had been to B & C recently, just about a few days ago and I can relate to what you felt, my friend. I go in with a girl and a guy ( three of us), and we are allowed without a question. 2 of my guy friends come in next and they are denied an entry with the usual "no stags; only couples" drama. I go out and pacify the bouncer -- the guys come in finally. I then have a couple coming in to visit me. They are asked for their Identification ( the girl is 30 yrs old and is asked for an ID?).

Sesame Chicken comes in as cold as it can get and the pitchers are overpriced and under delivered at 500 INR.

So much for the bottles that went right through to the chimneys!
