Dear Friends,
I want to take this opportunity to share some of my experiences being a Hyderabadi. Eventually I expect that every Hyderabadi will come to this situation that I go through, if we do not all work to rectify the situation. The reason I am sharing this info is our upcoming elections.
1. When I get introduce by someone as Zaheer from Hyderabad, or if I myself introduce myself to another person, after the formal niceties they ask if I am from the Old City (poranay shaher kay hai kya aap). Even though I stay in Mehdipatnam, I truly believe Hyderabad originated from the Old City only, so my reply to them is, Yes, Old City. Though there is really no such concept in Hyderabad as Old City and New City. This concept was created by some opportunistic politicians for their own sake.
2. I have personally noticed the numbers of the jobless, women in prostitution, child labour, elderly women begging at traffic signals, and the poor. Anyone who has a heart will definitely cry for the innocent people languishing with hunger in various locations of Hyderabad.
3. The present youth at least get higher education, but at the same time only 5% of our youth get jobs in any multinational company or such organizations, because the skills required in today's corporate culture are not being developed in our youth by the politicians for whom our elders have been voting from decades for the sake of religion.
4. Very often we feel there is now a feeling of religion in Hyderabad which was not there in the earlier days. This feeling has been generated and imbued into our minds by politicians of all sects and religions, but special credit goes to Owaisi and his companions.
5. If you visit any of the corporate hospitals such as Image, Yashoda, NIMS, KIMS, Apollo etc., you will find that most of the patients are paying bills that they usually don't have the capability for. So finally young women end up selling their jewellery, young boys try to take loans from friends or relatives to settle the bills, and elders try to sell off their ancient properties for their own treatment. And what of those who don't have even those assets? Where do they get the funds to pay for such hospitals?
Personally, I myself, during my father's illness, got a loan from my friends to settle the bills (and I am a so-called entrepreneur) but at the end of the day, I don't get even 1% support either from the hospital or from the politicians. EVEN though the OWAISI HOSPITAL AND RESEARCH CENTRE was established with the minority fund, practically 90% of the Owaisi hospital beds and equipment are never used, because the politicians don't want to give the management to the youth of Hyderabad who have a sincere desire to run such institutions on their own, and have the will and support from the community. Don't you think poor persons can get cure from such places if this happened?
6. Education: Our generations is doing really great in all studies, but after the final results they don't get seats in medical or any other good colleges if they don't have money. A few of them get seats because of their fathers or brothers working abroad who give them money for the high donations, but imagine the plight of those who have produced dynamic results but are poor - where do they go? Does our system today allow them to get education without money?
7. More or less Rs. 2,000 CRORES of Awkhaf lands and properties are under litigation, and this litigation is solved by our politicians who get a percentage as their own share. If these properties are control by a proper channel or a good board, imagine how much infrastructure and industry can be brought into our society for jobs.
8. Primary, secondary & higher education at most of the govt. schools has been shut down, and middle class and lower middle class kids are either dropping out from schools by the age of 8 or maximum 12 years. While our present politicians are constructing big buildings and renting them out to private and corporate schools in Hyderabad. The property provided to this schools is by our existing politicians, most of whom are the owners (examples being Gowtham School, Mehdipatnam; Gowtham College, Shalibunda; and Narayana Tehcno School, which are existing MIM MLAs' properties - and there are many more such examples in the twin cities).
9. According to a report, our existing Hyderabad MP has accounts in all European banks. In addition to that, major real estate developers are in partnership with his family, and their yearly turnover not less than Rs. 1000 crores. Our existing MLAs are also following in the footsteps of the MP saheb.
I request you to therefore vote for Zahid Ali Khan, the editor of Siasat, who is contesting as an independent with the cycle symbol for the Hyderabad Lok Sabha (MP) seat in the 2009 general elections.
Zahid sahab's personality and track record are completely free from corruption charges. Moreover, without being in politics, he has worked at the grassroot level for the youth of our city. At the same time, his companions have been involved in several social activities. And Zahid Ali Khan is a person who believes in and fears God. So I am going to cast my vote for him.
I am not asking you to vote for him, but before voting for anyone, please at least read the above evaluation of the present situation in our great city. And please send this message to all your contacts in Hyderabad and let them learn about the personality and vision of Zahid Ali Khan sahab before they take a decision.
Please vote against the evil forces that have been in power for decades and decades, and have been sleeping peacefully in air-conditioned rooms, leaving our fellow brothers and sisters in the darkness of poverty and illiteracy.
May God bring all happiness to all my fellow city mates.
Kindly cast your vote this time for a change towards betterment.
Yours sincerly
A true Hyderabadi
