is hyd really doing great? or is it just a hype?

I've always been curious about the development in Hyd from technological standpoint. I was told that the companies in hyd are mainly support centers and there is not much R&D going on with the exceptions of handful coms like MS, Google, etc. Infact I personally witnessed many of IT frnds fledding away from hyd in recent times. The boom hyd had received as another silicon valley of India: is it justified? Can Hyd continue to live upto the expectations that we have?
