international removals from Hyd

by mark » Thu May 26, 2005 10:28 am

Does anyone have any experience with international removals companies working in Hyderabad? I need to get my furniture back to Ireland, there's a fair bit of stuff there. My bike also needs to be shipped. Anyone gone through anything like this?

possibly, but they'd be ridiculously expensive. I've got a friend who fedexed a cardboard box home, cost him 250 yoyos, i'm shipping Bullets home for less than that!

i've found a shipping company, but their website looks expensive (did you ever get that feeling from a website? you go there and think "oohh, nice site. looks like whatever services they offer will be expensive though")

I have no idea how much stuff it would take to fill a container, but if i could do that it'd be the way to go i'd say. no idea how much this is all going to cost.

I think the best option os to book a container. You dont need a large one because I am guessing you dont have much stuff to take there.

ok mark...according to my cousin who is in Customs, the best way for u is to book a container and ship it by air or sea (less expensive). he says u can even send yr Bullet in the same container.

if u r still interested, in a couple of days he may give references of some of his known Cargo agents who wud take care of everything, incl the red-tape and paperwork.

once u call in any Cargo agent, he'll visit yr place, have a look at the stuff u intend to ship and give u suggestions etc.

call me if u need more info.

The names slipped outta my mind.

There is an agent who should be able to fix packing and container / container space for you, the location is near ICFAI on Punjagutta.

Now in true Hyderabadi Style let me explain the address.

Proceed from Cofee day towards Punjagutta Circle, there is a left lane that leads towards ICFAI. The road turns into a steep clmib thats where this agent is. (Keep looking on the left)

An expert in international carriages and shipment. Check them out. If I remember the name will post again.

I still dont think its going to be a cheap affair but way less then fedex or Courier cargo companies.

hmm, lotsa coffee days around there and i'm not sure what you mean by punjagutta circle. do you mean the one which joins rajbvhan road and greenland road? or nagerjuna circle? also i don't know what/where ICFAI is.

cheers for the lead though, can anyone explain to me where it is exactly?

Is there an Adidas Showroom there now.

There used to be a bunch off Irani Hotels there, and there was a Bank a little before this lane.

CoffeeDay | |

----------------------------------------| |--------Punjagutta Circle.

Take left here ->

---------------------------------------------------------------

Maruti Showroom

As you proceed on this left there is a mosque on a hillock [after which the area is named, mentioned earlier punja (palm), Gutna(knee).]

If you are interested climb that mosque and see the Punja and Gutna on the rock there.

A little before or after this mosque is this Logistic agent. Who can get you a space in any of the containers, and if you are ready to pay maybe able to AIR Freight as well.

AHHHH, have confused you enuff. Go there and enquire and you will get the address.

Adidas, Wills LifeStyle, Mahindra Cars, HSBC bank and some IT companies in that side of the road. the maruthi showroom is gone...replaced by a huge commercial complex.
