I wanted info on institutes that taught SAP. I'll be happy with just the names, all extra info will be appreciated (fee, placement etc)

Also since I do not know anything about SAP (this info is for a senior from college) can someone tell me what it is?

S = systems, A = applications, P = products, that is, "Systems, Applications, and Products (in data processing)." This name is based on the original German name "Systeme, Anwendungen und Produkte (in der Datenverarbeitung)."

You can find more information on the company and its history on the http://www.sap.com Website.

Actually I wonder that you did not find out much about SAP when searching the Web. Let us start with the "definition" of SAP as you can find it in the "Usability Glossary"

SAP stands for "Systems, Applications, Products" (German: Systeme, Anwendungen, Produkte). SAP AG, headquartered in Walldorf, Germany, is the third-largest software company in the world and the world's largest inter-enterprise software company, providing integrated inter-enterprise software solutions as well as collaborative e-business solutions for all types of industries and for every major market. Founded in 1972 by five former IBM systems engineers, SAP now employs more than 28,000 people in more than 50 countries, among them more than 5400 software developers around the world. SAP AG employs a central usability group, and decentral user interface designers based in the applications.

For more information on SAP AG see the company's website at http://www.sap.com. There you can get an impression of the company and what it does; it offers lots of information about SAP.

getting into SAP functionality is difficult without work experience in that particualr area....in other words profesionals in a particular department/area can become a SAP functional/implementation expert in that area. ex: an Accountant can become SAP Bill Receivable expert and so on.

even Seimens take people with related experience for SAP traiing.

programmers can opt for ABAP tools which is a programming tool in SAP. ABAP is taught by Seimens as well as many IT Training shops in ameepet. its like any programming tool and not so difficult to learn if u have the aptitude for programming. let your friend learn ABAP from a good training center (best is Seimen's, but costly) and try for a placement.

many 'shops' in ameerpet claim to teach SAP functionality as well, but dont get conned. they do give some extra basic info on the functional area u choose, but without any practical experience in that area its difficult to get a job in it.

Ok jasz,

the fees is Rs.2.5 lakhs for a one month (or is it 2 months) course.
People are crazy, at times are strange. I am locked-in tight, I am out of range.
I used to care, but things have changed.

Jaszboi,If ur Friend is Really Serious about it and has some/little Experience in the Functional Field, then he/she should go for it.Yeah,Agreed that the Investment is Great but the returns also will be Great.

I had a lengthy interaction with the Siemens Lady and from my perspective,She was Pretty Right and "No-Beating-About-the-Bush" type. She straightforwardly said to me that if you've the Requisite Experience then it would be no problem but since I wasa Fresher, she suggested against joining now but maybe at a later date in Life. For Freshers, the 'Recommended' modules AFAIK are ABAP (For Techies) and FI/CO (for Non-Techies)
