sahara

by Scorpiouno » Tue Apr 12, 2005 11:16 pm

it has great actors in matthew mcconaughey and steve zahn. penelope cruz looks great as always. just an ok performance from her. there are a few action sequences that you can say are ok. but the story is nothing near good. the ending is disappointing. matthew and steve keep getting lucky all the time and the treasure seems to just keep finding its way to them instead of the other wat around.

watch this movie if you have already watched all the better ones.

on a scale of 1 to 5(1-worst and 5 best) i'd rate it 3.

Sin City

by Scorpiouno » Tue Apr 12, 2005 11:23 pm

this movie is a feast for the eyes. its based on the popular comic 'sin city' as most of you might already be aware of...

micky rourke has done exceptionally well. he has portrayed his character 'marv' as noone else can. he's just awesome in it.

bruce willis is his usual serious type in the 'hardigan' character.

one thing you have to prepare yourself for before you watch the movie is to be aware that its an adaptation of a comic. so, you'll see some things which are not possible in real life. thats how the comic is and thats exactly how the movie has been remade. watch it for the fun that it provides and you'll have fun. "heroes will rise" and they can also rise 'again' and 'again'

on a scale of 1 to 5; this one i'll rate 4.

You gave a four for Sin City? I gave it a 4.5.I thought it rocked. My only wish is that they should have more of The Salesman and The Customer. They just had like 30-50 secs.

With pleasure......it'll help me get my point across.

a few weeks ago when my moronic-outbursts caused two newbies to leave, a few members from fullhyd were telling me to be more easygoing on them.

They following is the gist of what Mark said "when you see a stupid thread and want to curse a moronic poster, try knitting a sweater and cooling off. Do not take them too seriously"

So i had one of those moments and dont want mark to tell me to knit

The interpreter

by ScorpioUno » Tue Apr 26, 2005 5:26 am

hi

its time for the next review. before i go on and write about 'the interpreter', i'm changing the rating scale from "1 to 5" to "1 to 10". I want to be able to do more justice to the rating for each movie, so i thought that'd be the best thing to do...

now sin city's rating is 8 out of 10 and sahara is going to be 7(thought it was 3 out of 5 and should be 6 out of 10, i gave 7 'cos thats the purpose of incrasing the rating scale - to give fairer ratings)...

comin to 'the interpreter'...

great performances by nicole kidman and sean penn... you must watch the movie carefully and listen to the dialogues or you'll get lost. but its not the kind of movie you'd go to if you want to have fun. its more of the serious types... the story is not too captivating and greater chances are - you will get bored some time in the movie eventually. but if you are in for a serious movie and are ready to watch with more than the usual concentration, you can go to this one. do not go with too high an expectation to this one...

feel free to comment...
