Irish Team, Indian Driver

by mark » Tue Feb 01, 2005 6:20 pm

Ok so it's not really an Irish team any more, but it looks like Jordan'll have an Indian guy behind the steering wheel next season, the first Indian driver in Formula 1.

Nice to see he's finally made it. Hope he won't have to rely on super-stupid advertisements now.

Btw, there are quite a few F-1 fans here too. :D

The only reason Narian was signed is because of the fact that the new owner of Jordan has maajor business interests here in India. Signing an Indian driver will assure lotsa people rooting for Jordan and indirectly helping this new owner with whatever business intereests he has.

Also Bernie "Greedy" Ecclestone is trying to break into the Indian market basically because we have weak tobacco laws and F1 depends too heavily on tobacco. Every other country with F1 racing tracks are banning any tobacco ads and F1 has to move outta there.....hence the new tracks in Asia.
