I want to Win "The Nobel Prize"

by Mayavi Morpheus » Thu Dec 18, 2003 11:40 am

There are basically two ways to get a Noble prize:
1. Work hard, watch Beautiful mind, take over doses of some medicine and go crazy, then join a Mental health center. You may achieve something this way, but it will take a long time
2. The second, and this is the easier method is by paying me. Yes, u heard it right. I have contacts with inner circles of some Norweignan king. Infact the princess is a personal friend of mine. So you pay me $100 Million (negotiable) and I will arrange a nobel prize for you. But the categories are restricted. Only physics and Peace.
May the Fries be with you!

I want to Win "The Nobel Prize"

Arey Anil, \"No Bargaining, Fixed Price\" hehe..
Anyway, I am not too ambitious, all I am asking is $100 million for a Nobel prize. Of the $100 Mil, the prize winner will get $10 Million for further research.
I promised the princess to buy a pink diamond studded necklace! single pink diamond costed kobe 4 million, so imagine what a neckalce would cost!
Apart from that I have to grease the otehr memberso f the Nobel council and also pay the scientists who are doing the actual work.
Ab Itna sab dene ke baad, mujhe kya milra?, tumich socha, mujhe kuch phaiyida nahi hone wala. Main yuhich social service kar raha hun. Hyderabad walon ko ishpecial discount hai yeah, waise to main $150 million leta hun, aur bahut log dene ke liye tayyar hai. Sochlo.

Stupid me. Here I was thinking that the Nobel laureates were selected by the Royal SWEDISH Academy of Sciences. So, it is in fact the "Norweignan king" and the princess that have the final word, huh. Anyways, humor aside, the utter lack of respect displayed by MM, for the greatest brains humanity has ever seen, is despicable.

Was checking who's online a while back and saw this guy, bhavans... stumbled on this thread when checking his old posts.

Trivia:

Nobel prizes in the field of sciences are given in stockholm and the nobel laurettes are selected by Royal swedish academy of sciences but the peace prize is given in Olso, Norway and a norwegian committe appointed by Norwegian parliament selects the peace prize winner.

Things are supposed to happen the way they happen. And the reason they happen the way the happen is because you try to make them happen in a certain way and may or may not be succesful.

Welcome, WNL! Happy Nobel Prize Hunting! ... But First See The Following (posted dt 23 June 04 in "Build Happy Earth Links" in this Group):

Nobel Prize ... "Ig Nobel" Recognition!

* Nobel Likelies in the Next 20 Years

Twenty Indian Science Luminaries Likely for the Nobel in the Next 20 Years:

1. Vilayanur S Ramachandran (51) 2. C N R Rao (69) 3. Shrinivas R Kulkarni (47) 4. Ashoke Sen (47) 5. E Premkumar Reddy 6. Lalji Singh 7. J V Narlikar

8. G Padmanabhan 9. Goverdhan Mehta 10. M S Swaminathan 11. M K Chandrashekaran 12. K Vijay Raghavan 13. Mriganka Sur 14. Jainendra Jain

15. V Ramakrishnan 16. Lov Grover 17. Abhay Ashtekar 18. S Chandrasekhar 19. Gurudev Khush 20. K R Srinivasan

Only three Indian Scientists of Indian Origin - Sir C V Raman, Hargobind Khorana and Subrahmanyam Chandrashekhar – have won the Nobel Prize in its 102-Year History, Chandrashekhar being the last in 1983.

- Outlook, 15 July 2003, p 34-44.

* “Ig Nobel” Awards

There is a Journal called “Annals of Improbable Research” and an “Ig Nobel Board of Governors”. The Board selects Research Work for “Ig Nobel Prizes”. One Such “Research Work” selected from India was “Estimation of the Total Surface Area in Indian Elephants (‘Elephas Maximus Indicus’). The “Reasearch Scientist” was told by the Board: “Whether your achievement is for the public good or bad may be difficult or even painful to explain. But the fact is, you did and have even been recognized. Let others make of that recognition what they will.”

- Outlook. 15 July 2003, p 88-89.

-------

Look Out ... Beware of the "Ig Nobel" !

-------

Q. Are You in the List of 20 Probables from India in the Next 20 Years?

-------

A Professor of Mine had the Noble Ambition of "Nobel Prize OR Nothing" ... He achieved the Latter ... Of Course, he became the Vice Chancellor and offered to lead a Students Procession Demanding Separate Statehood ... A Demand Revived Recently by Others.

-------

Another Colleague of Mine - A Poet - Demanded from me the Address of the Nobel Prize Committe ... He wanted to send his Pric(z)eless Poems. I suggested to him to simply Mail them To NPC, Stockholm, SWEDEN.

-------

Ambition is Wonderful ... It will Spur You Ever Onwards, Outwards and Upwards ... Wish You Success in Your Noble / Nobel Desire!

-------
