MIT has some time back put all his courses online for free. They beleive that education should come free of cost. On the other hand Hyderabad beleives in the quote \'education is money\'
Is it time for a change????
For interested people MIT\'s site is ocw.mit.edu and has notes ans study material for upto 600 courses offered at MIT.Its simply terrific.check it out..

Hyderabad has BRAOU which offers free education, albeit charges a small amount of money towards course registration and exams. BRAOU stands for BR Ambedkar Open university.
Regards MIT, their online courses are free, but they charge anywhere between $20,000 to $25,000 per year for to study on-campus! Compare that to Rs.8000 per year ($150) for an engineering seat in Hyderabad!

I realise that MIT charges their students lot of money for education. We have to keep in mind that the professors pay for the tuition of many students from their funds.Thats beside the point, though. The point is not that MIT can afford it while others can\'t. The point is that they have taken a bold step by doing what they did considering the fact that a good percentage of MIT faculty was apprehensive of the idea. Ya, I have read a lot about this project. Also MIT could have easily put their material online for generating funds and that too would have worked. By doing what they did they have shown the path for other institutions to come forward and share their resources.waddya think??
