Why Hyderabadis are specially noticed!

Hi, I am having a doubt, and if any one can answer it, I\'ll appreciate it! I am in the USA, and when I meet my friends who are from different parts of the country and from India and when they ask me which part of India I am from and I answer HYDERABAD, they all laugh. And when I ask why they are laughing since they too are from India, then they tell me that they are not from Hyderabad \"NAKOO\" place. 
It is so embarassing that they treat the Hyderabadi language as cheap (Nakoo)! Thanks for your patience. Please give me more info on the above topic. Thanks in advance.

Cmmon sara dont take it seriously, we do have a special unique language which others dont appreciate, and not all people say something like that. May be its because of the huge number that we hyderabadis are present in US that irk others. whatever, dont take such small things to heart and be proud to be a hyderabadi.

\"Nakko\" is amongst the first few words my two yr old son learnt, and I feel good about it! People from other parts of India do find such words amusing, like one of my best freind from Delhi laughs to fall when I call \"Jhaad\" to a tree instead of \"Peid\". So don\'t be embarrased, its our way of talking. Be assured, your friends don\'t want you to be embarrased, so don\'t be!

oh, boy ! u r embarrased to be a hyderabadi !! and feel embarrased w/ OUR language !! hey, Sara, our language is unique. It is lovely to hear in its own ways and yes, there are a lot of people who go into squeals of laughter saying all those words and ask for many more and I give them as and when I remember them so that they can enjoy our language too. they do not laugh at our language, they feel the FUN in it. to be able to use different words and yet mean the same which is called urdu/hindi and atypical hyderabadi. They do not demean us, well, they will never dare, anyways ! But, seriously, u r the first one that I came across who\'s said something like being embarrased abt\' our language and it surprised me. I had always come across those of the Indians and even pakistanis, bangladeshis and afghanis and 2 iraqis who are very much in love w/ our typical urdu err, rather, that we call urdu

No, maam, they sure do not laugh at it, they laugh for the fun of it. you too enjoy and be proud of it. ok? have a nice time being a hyderabadi.

Every part of the country has so many dialects. When Laloo speaks in his Bihari accent, we laugh. So people not exposed to others\' dialects may find it funny. We can\'t stop them enjoying!!! Hi Sara, don\'t worry and laugh along!!!

Agreed that it is not a pure form of Hindi. But we never said we want to talk in pure Hindi. After all, Hyderabad is a mix of all cultures, and Hindi is not as dominating as it is in the North. So what I feel is that they are unnecessarily laughing thinking that \"you are making a mistake\" by using nakko. But there is no standard kind of thing in the language we speak. We speak different versions. Since you are speaking in Hindi somehow, they are saying \"it\'s wrong\". But if you speak in your own language and if they think that its Hindi, then everything will be wrong. They are not from ISO to make any standards. As long as your English and your mother tongue are fine, no need to worry.

Sara, you should be proud to be Hyderabadi. Very few people say nakko - those who understand that nakkoo is the best. I am Hyderabadi too, and I mostly move around with Hyderabadis only.

 Well you feel it cause ur a hyderabadi .. i mean there are ppl making fun punjabi (sardars ) and other cultures.
 
 Its just that we tend to overlook that and what bothers us is when they make fun of our culture. I am not exactly sure what it means to be a Hyderabadi .. am new to this place and am a punjabi.
 
 But really, the more you feel hurt more others will hurt..
 Cmon! u dont need somebody to tell u whats right .. believe always that ur the best .. thats it ..
 
 When they say Nakoo .. just smile .. that smile wud actually mean get lost to them ;-)

Hey Sara.....The \\\'Hyderabadi\\\' language is just a mix of hindi and urdu, yet it has become popular as a unique dialect. We Hyderabadis enjoy speaking it and are proud of it as it reflects our nawabi style and carefree attitude. The language also becomes special as it never fails to bring a smile on to people\\\'s face when they converse in it and really.... not many languages can boast of doing that!!!!!!! so just relax and be proud of our language and keep smiling!!!!!!!:-)

I\'m proud to be from Hyderabad. Hyderabadi\'s are far better than pu****i\'s, D******s who are generally selfish. We never even let them come near us closer socially. They are khaat and uncultured people.

I know sara i am from US too and yes some people do make fun of hyderabadi language I had experienced that too! I dont feel embarassed but I do feel angry at them sometimes.

Hmmmmmmmmmm.......well I would say if we get notice jolly good for us.....just relax and have fun..see we possess something unique (just like anybody else...)
 
 if the world laughs at you for that..laugh with it....thats the whole point of having fun.....
 
 BTW getting notice is a lot better than not being noticed..

hey guys! lets just be proud abt what we have!!
 
 when i first came to Delhi, i too used the words NAKKO n MALOOM NAI. people used be amused and laugh about it.
 
 they laugh because they are amused to hear those unique words (or i say unique language.)
 
 now its like, even i share a laugh with them!
 
 it was never embarassing to me though! it was always amusing to know that people get amused abt NAKKO language!!
 
 so lets just take that in the right spirit! then everthing will be fine!!
 
 if some even does a teasing!! thats okhay!! and the thing is, u can find 100 such NAKKO\'s in every language!!
 
 If we are proud abt our culture no one would even dare to pass a comment!! thats what we are lacking may be!!
 
 and lets just be proud that NAKKO atleast makes someone have a laugh!! what else one wants.

The language we speak is nothing but funny for others but we should be proud that we are the only people from India in USA that are noticed by our language. and this great and we are proud of this nothing to feel ashamed of thats our style and if u want to take it take it other wise who cares.
